Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 16, 2026
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data that a website stores on your device. They let a site remember that you're logged in, measure how people use the site, and generally keep things working. This page explains the cookies (and similar technologies like local storage) that KidTales uses. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
2. Essential cookies
These cookies are required for KidTales to work. If you block them, parts of the site will stop functioning.
- Authentication (Clerk). Used to keep you signed in, remember your session, and protect your account. Set by our authentication provider, Clerk.
- Security. Used to prevent cross-site request forgery (CSRF), abuse, and brute-force login attempts.
- Preferences. Used to remember UI choices, such as your billing-period toggle.
3. Analytics
We use PostHog to understand how people use KidTales so we can fix bugs and improve the product. PostHog sets cookies and uses local storage to record events such as pages viewed, buttons clicked, and stories generated. We do not use PostHog data for advertising, and we do not send it to advertising networks.
4. No advertising cookies
KidTales does not use advertising cookies, does not sell data to advertisers, and does not participate in cross-context behavioral advertising.
5. Your choices
You have several ways to turn analytics off:
- Click “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” in the site footer. This immediately stops PostHog from capturing events in your browser and persists across reloads.
- Enable Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser (built into Firefox, Brave, DuckDuckGo, and others, or available as an extension). KidTales automatically detects the GPC signal and opts you out of analytics without any click required.
- Block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Note that essential cookies are required for login and subscription features to work.
- Email owaabiz@gmail.com and we'll exclude your account from analytics.
6. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy as the Service changes. The “Last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
